Welcome to our Holiday Cottages in Northumberland Warkwork Castle, Northumberland. Warkworth is an ancient fortified village built on a rocky spur close to the mouth of the river Coquet. It is a pretty village unspoilt by modern development and tourism.
The impressive remains of a 12th century castle lie at the top of Main Street on a hill overlooking the river. The fasinating Hermitage is a 14th century chapel carved into the rock half a mile upstream of the castle- hidden by trees and includes a chapel, confessional and dormitory and is accessible by boat during the summer months.
The church of St Lawrence in the village is a Roman church with a stone spire.
The award winning beach is a short walk or a 5 minute drive from the village centre there is a car park alongside the picnic area.
